James M. Cox, DC, DACBR, is the innovator of flexion-distraction protocols. Since graduation from National College of Chiropractic in 1963, Dr. Cox seeks a safe, gentle, effective, research-proven, evidence-based way to address spinal pain conditions. Throughout his professional career, Dr. Cox has supported research not only with his time and clinical training, but also with donations from his textbook royalties and speaking honoraria. He recognizes the need for chiropractic to document its clinical outcomes. He is the author of Low Back Pain (6th ed, Lippincott) and Neck, Shoulder and Arm Pain (3rd ed). He has presented around the world on spine pain management with Cox® Technic protocols. A professional joy of his is sharing the research literature regarding the spine: its biomechanics, examination, diagnosis, radiological findings, and treatment. This new venture into online learning is in hopes of reaching more healthcare professionals concerned with the most effective management of spinal pain.
